Love is in the Air
Love is most definitely in the air at Wilmslow Guild Photographic Society. The Society has had two recent weddings and an engagement. The photographer for both weddings was also a member of WGPS.

Wilmslow Guild Calendar 2012
Wilmslow Guild Photographic Society are pleased to announce the arrival of the 2012 calendar which is produced in collaboration with the Guild – an ideal gift for friends or family.

Calendars are on sale at the Guild, at Wilmslow Library and at Prestbury Flowers for just £7. You can also call 01625 523 903 to reserve copies. Proceeds from the calendar go towards the upkeep of the Guild.

Wilmslow Safari
If you remember seeing a group of photographers walking round Wilmslow in the early summer, they weren’t the local paparazzi in search of a famous footballer, but members of Wilmslow Guild Photographic Society (WGPS) on the quest for images of Wilmslow.
Photographers were given a brief to take images of Wilmslow town centre which were to be entered into the first competition of the 2011-2012 season.
Around 20 photographers participated and submitted their images which were voted for in the inaugural meeting of the Society on 21 September.
The top 3 winning images were “Lindow Rushes” by Michael Hilton (3rd), “Crown Green Bowlers” by Clare Metcalfe (2nd) and “A place of contrast or extremes”, with Pat Sawas taking the top spot.

Photographer of the Year 2011
Wilmslow Guild Photographic Society has recently awarded its Photographer of the Year (POTY) honour for 2010-2011. The well deserving winner is Kevin Lee.
A selection of Kevin’s outstanding images are shown left to right “Father and Son – self portrait”, “Great White Egrets” and “Paris Skyline”.

Another Success
Hard on the heels of our previous two wins for Sport and Action and Macro, the Wilmslow Guild Photographic Society (WGPS) again have reason to celebrate, coming 2nd in the final round of the Digital SLR User Magazine competition - Architecture. The scores for these images were added to the other 8 rounds, giving WGPS 11th place overall out of a total of 63 national clubs.
The Architecture images submitted were (left to right): Lincoln Memorial by Dave Griffiths, London Bridge by Jonathan Rew-Dixon and Stoke Station, again by Dave Griffiths.
